An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Vetting Unit Supervisor in the Professional Standards Department.

What you will be doing:

  • To support the Force Vetting Manager (FVM) in the supervision of the Vetting Unit and in the provision of a comprehensive vetting service, compliant with the Vetting Code of Practice and the Authorised Professional Practice.
  • To oversee the implementation of police vetting in terms of police and non‑police personnel, ensuring that only those who act in accordance with the principles of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Behaviour are recruited and retained.
  • To deputise for the FVM as and when required, and to assist the FVM in their role as the Force lead for vetting, assuming responsibility for strategic work as directed (including taking a lead role in specific vetting projects and/or areas of vetting business).
