Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) - Investigation Officer in Carmarthen

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) – Investigation Officer within Specialist Operations.

What you will be doing

To manage investigations into the most serious road traffic collisions. The role will entail identifying, initiating and allocating lines of investigation and ensuring that protocols and procedures in obtaining such evidence are adhered to. You will be responsible for ensuring that any evidence obtained is recorded, secured, and preserved in a timely and appropriate manner to contribute to the effective investigation of a serious road traffic collision.

A requirement will be to obtain statements from witnesses including significant witnesses in line with force policy. Interview can include vulnerable adult witnesses or child and undertaking the interviewing and processing of suspects.
