An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Complaints Officer in Professional Standard.
What you will be doing?
- To receive, assess and log complaints against the police.
- To take or co‑ordinate action to effectively respond to (and where appropriate resolve) lower level complaints in accordance with legislation and national/local guidance and policy.
- This may include communicating with complainants via various means to understand their complaint.
- To ensure appropriate information is collected and documented in order to accurately inform formal complaint recording decisions by the Appropriate Authority.
- To maintain an effective audit trail of action, ensuring that the Department’s Centurion database is fully utilised and updated, and to keep interested parties informed as appropriate.
- To assist the wider Complaints and Misconduct Team as and when required with complaint or misconduct related matters that are in line with the level and responsibilities of the role.
