We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner / Transport Operative to join our client in Warrington.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transport professional looking for a 4 on, 4 off night shift. The position will initially be offered on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position directly with our client after 12 weeks.
The Role
Working as part of the transport operation, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating general haulage movements, communicating with drivers and customers, and ensuring the operation runs efficiently throughout the night.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating general haulage operations
- Allocating and moving jobs as required
- Replanning routes and workloads when operational requirements change
- Communicating effectively with drivers throughout the shift
- Managing driver engagement and providing operational support
- Working within drivers' hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations
- Using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and customer portals
- Maintaining accurate transport and compliance records
- Liaising with customers and providing a high level of customer service
- Ensuring all transport activities are carried out safely, efficiently and compliantly
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- A strong background within the transport and logistics industry
- A good understanding of drivers' hours and WTD regulations
- Experience moving jobs and replanning during live operations
- Excellent driver communication and engagement skills
- Strong administration and PC skills
- Experience using TMS, compliance systems and customer portals
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced transport environment
- A proactive approach with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
