We’re excited to be hiring a number of Maintenance Engineers to join our growing team. This role is an integral part of the HECK! family, keeping our operation going and our customers happy with great-tasting products! This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on, proactive individual who wants to make an immediate impact in a fast‑paced, food manufacturing environment.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in electrical engineering, machine maintenance and/or general maintenance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of food production equipment.
  • Responding quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Working closely with production teams to ensure all machinery operates at peak performance.
  • Supporting and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring all engineering work is carried out safely and to the highest standard, following health and food safety guidelines.
  • Assisting in installations, commissioning of new equipment, and factory development projects.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role, ideally within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • A proactive, can‑do attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and support the business as needed.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential if you have strong practical experience.
