Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Class 2 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of service. The role requires nights out which expenses are paid.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class 2 lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and secure cargo on the vehicle, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety measures are followed.
- Deliver goods to designated locations, maintaining accurate delivery logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety and compliance.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence (C) with a clean driving record.
- Valid Driver CPC
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
