Heb Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Group Finance Manager to lead our finance operations across the business at a time of exciting growth. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact, driving financial excellence, streamlining processes, and supporting strategic decision making across all divisions.
As Group Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, smooth day-to-day operations, and continuous improvement of systems and controls across the group. You will work closely with the Group Finance Director and wider leadership team, providing reliable insight, managing the finance team, and helping prepare the business for further scale.
This is a full-time role, based at our Sheffield head office. The role is Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours requirements at peak periods such as year-end or ERP rollout milestones. You will also support the upcoming implementation of a new ERP system, taking a lead role in driving automation and improving reporting across legal entities and divisions. This role demands a hands-on leader with strong technical ability, excellent time management, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for review by the Group Finance Director
- Support the design and rollout of a new ERP system, helping improve automation, efficiency, and data integrity
- Oversee the finance team (currently five people), providing coaching, direction, and support
- Take ownership of year-end reporting and liaise with external auditors
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cashflow reports for internal review and planning
- Review and approve supplier payments, monitor payroll, and manage HMRC returns
- Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax legislation
- Deputise for the Group Finance Director as required
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong technical finance knowledge, including statutory accounting and HMRC compliance
- Confident user of accounting systems and Excel, with experience implementing ERP platforms
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to develop and manage a finance team
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
