The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 £ per year.

With the estate consisting of 60 Pubs and 24 domestic dwellings, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance/repair and building projects across our pub estate while maintaining and implementing a high level of health and safety standards. You will lead the Maintenance team working closely with each staff member to ensure projects, reactive repairs and planned maintenance run smoothly on a day to day basis, along with ensuring all contractors and their staff are Health and Safety compliant. Working closely with external contractors to identify and mitigate risks throughout all repair and capital projects, while adhering to relevant health and safety regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage all building/repair projects across the estate, including negotiating best prices from external contractors and suppliers.
  • Organise and manage the internal maintenance team showing strong communication skills, ensure all training is up to date and compliant with health and safety regulations for each staff member and yourself.
  • Site visits will be required to look at and inspect suspected repair issues within the pubs and occasionally our domestic dwellings.
  • Liaising with the relevant Tenanted Operations Manager in order to assess each maintenance/repair project.
  • Site inspection and visits to ensure external contractors are completing projects on time and to a good standard.
  • Keep accurate and up to date health and safety records of all work undertaken by external contractors and internal maintenance team, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • You will be expected to engage with external consultants and specialists in order to complete projects.

Health and Safety Management:

  • You will be responsible for all health and safety policies and procedures being adhered to for all building projects/repairs for all maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform risk assessments and method statements and implement appropriate control measures to minimise safety risks.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, taking corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Aid the company in delivery of all safety training to all site personnel, including external contractors, on relevant safety procedures and regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain all health and safety records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.

Required Skills Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ideally a background from a trade and building/contract maintenance background, and have a good all-round knowledge of the building industry.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality sector, ideally pubs and inns and working across multiple sites would be useful.
  • Understanding and up to date knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices within the building/construction industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience of managing a building department.
  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the Company.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Relevant Health and Safety Courses undertaken, e.g., CITB SMSMS courses attended along with asbestos awareness, working at height, manual handling.
