About Us: The Knot Inn is a beautiful countryside pub near Rudyard Lake, celebrated for its quality food and drinks, exceptional customer service and sublime Sunday lunches. As our popularity grows, we are looking for another talented Junior Sous to join our team.

What you will do:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a high-quality pub setting or gastro pub.

We’re looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This would suit an experienced Chef de Partie who is ready to take on more responsibility, or someone already working at Junior Sous level who wants to continue developing. You’ll work closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chef, helping with the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen as well as being hands‑on during prep and service.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Preparing and cooking fresh food across our menus.
  • Running sections confidently during service.
  • Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the day‑to‑day organisation of the kitchen.
  • Helping to organise prep and making sure the kitchen is ready for service.
  • Supporting and guiding other members of the kitchen team.
  • Maintaining consistency, presentation and portion control.
  • Stepping up and taking additional responsibility when required.
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

About you: We’re looking for someone with good experience in a fresh food kitchen who is ready to develop into a more senior role. You’ll need to be:

  • Confident working across different sections of the kitchen.
  • Organised and able to keep on top of your section during a busy service.
  • Reliable and happy to take responsibility.
  • A good team player who is willing to support others.
  • Consistent in the quality and presentation of the food you produce.
  • Keen to learn and continue developing as a chef.

Working pattern: 4 or 5 days per week. Weekend working is required, with Sunday being one of our busiest services. We do not open on Christmas Day.
