We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part‑time Food & Textiles Technician to support DT teachers in delivering the curriculum and practicals, assisting in lessons to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment. You will be an integral part of a supportive and aspirational team.

You will support teaching and learning by:

  • Prepare and maintain materials, tools, and equipment for lessons in Textiles.
  • Provide ingredients for lessons in Food Technology.
  • Assist teaching staff during practical sessions, offering technical advice and support to students.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times, including safe storage and disposal of materials.
  • Organise and manage stock, resources, and displays and undertake administration tasks.
  • Contribute to exhibitions and displays of student work across the school.
  • Help ensure health and safety standards.

This is a varied and busy role involving preparing resources, equipment and food ingredients for lessons, as well as maintaining and ordering supplies and working alongside teachers to support learning in practical lessons and demonstrations.

Candidates should:

  • Have experience or training in Textiles/Food (education or industry).
  • Be organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Show strong practical skills and a good understanding of relevant tools, techniques, and materials.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with young people to support learning and development.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to creativity and a positive learning environment.
