Heathside Walton-on-Thames has recently joined the Every Child Every Day Trust (ECED), and we are seeking a Clerk to provide professional clerking and administrative support exclusively for Heathside Walton’s Local Governing Board. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the governance of our school.
Duties will include:
- Provide full clerking services to Heathside Walton’s Local Governing Board.
- Ensure the Board’s governance practices comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare agendas and collate documentation for Board meetings.
- Accurately record and distribute minutes.
- Advise the Chair and Board members on governance procedures.
- Attend a minimum of 13 Board meetings per academic year (typically Mondays, 4–6 PM).
- Participate in training and ongoing professional support.
Candidates must:
- Have excellent ICT and literacy skills, with the ability to prepare agendas, collate documents, and produce clear and accurate minutes.
- Have prior experience in clerking or administrative roles.
- Be proactive, able to work independently, and manage their time effectively.
- Possess strong communication skills and a professional, can-do attitude.
- Be flexible and available to attend scheduled meetings, with the capacity to support additional meetings when needed.
