The Heathrow Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the UK’s most exciting apprenticeship programmes. The scheme provides career changing opportunities for residents close to the airport.

Responsibilities

  • Support civil engineering projects by creating and modifying engineering diagrams, documents, and specifications, following industry standards.
  • Assist in developing engineering solutions by collecting and analysing technical data and using digital tools like CAD/BIM/REVIT.
  • Prioritise safety by adhering to health and safety guidelines, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including environmental and sustainability measures.
  • Manage project quality, budget, and targets using available systems while maintaining data security.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team, taking responsibility for tasks.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and ethical standards.
  • Continuously learn and develop skills in line with professional codes and industry standards.

Typical Working Week

40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.

Qualifications required/desirable

  • Minimum Requirements: English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 2 or above.
  • Desired Requirements: It will be an advantage if you have some previous related work experience or completed a Level 2 Engineering qualification.

Key Training/College Information

K10 will enrol you to the Level 3 Civil Engineering course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship duration is 36 months.

To start this apprenticeship, you’ll need to be:

  • Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status.
  • Not enrolled on any other courses.
  • 18+ due to site H&S rules.
