The Sponsor Analyst will support the Programme Sponsorship team in ensuring our capital programmes deliver the outcomes and benefits they are designed to achieve. This is a hands‑on role for someone with a strong analytical mindset and an understanding of project or programme delivery, who enjoys working with data, stakeholders and governance frameworks. You will work closely with the Managing Sponsor and Functional Sponsor to develop and manage Benefit Management Plans (BMPs), provide insight on performance, and help keep programmes aligned to our strategic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence investment decisions, support the realisation of benefits across Heathrow, and build experience in sponsorship, benefits management and programme governance.
Your role will involve:
- Creating, updating and monitoring Benefit Management Plans (BMPs) at project and programme level, ensuring benefits are clearly defined, baselined and tracked.
- Preparing and supporting monthly Programme Committees, including producing papers, maintaining trackers and capturing actions, decisions and outcomes.
- Maintaining benefits and performance dashboards; analysing project and programme data to identify risks, trends and opportunities, and producing clear, evidence‑based insights.
- Working with project, programme and functional stakeholders to ensure benefits are accurately captured, owned and reported throughout the lifecycle, including post‑project reviews and lessons learned.
- Leading smaller, less complex initiatives or workstreams focused on optimising benefits, helping to resolve issues and constraints with guidance from the Managing Sponsor.
These Skills Are Essential:
- Experience of benefits management, sponsorship, PMO or investment governance in a project or programme environment.
- Knowledge of APM / MSP or other project and programme management frameworks or accreditations.
- Experience supporting post‑project reviews, benefits realisation reviews or continuous improvement initiatives.
- A proactive, curious mindset, with an interest in improving processes and ways of working to maximise benefit realisation.
