Our team is responsible for managing relationships with our partners and coordinating day-to-day operational activities, including the Airport Operating Centre (APOC) operational plan. Our purpose is to make every journey better and we work closely with our Team Heathrow Partners to achieve it. We do this by building trusted relationships with our partners, working to understand our shared goals and continually driving up standards across safety, operational and resilience performance. This demands close collaboration and communications, clear governance, working to quickly identify and resolve shared issues that proactively deliver improvement across Heathrow and for our passengers.
The Operational Resilience Coordinator at Heathrow Airport is responsible for managing and supporting the activation of the Command & Control function during incidents. This includes overseeing the Incident Alerting System, coordinating the rostering and training of Command & Control personnel, and maintaining response facilities and equipment. The role also involves supporting the development and delivery of Resilience plans, supporting Training & Exercising activities across business units and providing briefings to internal and external stakeholders. The coordinator participates in on-call duties and plays a key role in ensuring Heathrow’s operational resilience through effective project management, communication, and cross-team coordination.
Your role will involve:
- Administer and manage the Heathrow Incident Alerting System and rostering management daily.
- Maintain compliance with the on-call policy.
- Ensure equipment and facilities for incident response are operational and ready.
- Help develop and manage the Command & Control training programme.
- Support of the Training & Exercising portfolio.
- Deliver internal and external briefings, including participation in Terminal Committee Meetings.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of resilience events (e.g. exercises, simulations).
- Provide project coordination to support the development of new resilience procedures and plans.
These skills are essential:
- Deep understanding of Heathrow Airport operations and challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in presentation skills.
- Proven influencing and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent issues/tasks.
- Team player with high levels of personal accountability.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Working knowledge of resilience good practices.
- Exposure to or training in project management techniques.
- Understanding of MS Power Platform.
