Job Description
Join Heathrow as an Operational Procedures Officer and help shape the future of airside operations at one of the world\’s busiest airports. You\’ll work closely with Airside Operations and Safety Improvement teams, applying continuous improvement to ensure our procedures meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

Your role will involve

  • Developing and updating operational procedures for airside activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Following the aerodrome change management process and documenting all changes accurately.
  • Publishing and maintaining airside documentation on Heathrow\’s website and Airport Community App, while communicating updates clearly to teams and stakeholders.
  • Building strong relationships with partners like NATS, Ground Handlers, and Airlines to support robust procedure development aligned with operational goals.
  • Supporting the Aerodrome Procedures Manager with projects and meetings related to procedural updates.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties in support of the Airside Operations team.

These Skills Are Essential

  • Operational experience of Airside Operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, high-quality documentation tailored to different audiences.
  • A valid UK driving license and occupational health medical check to enable the successful post holder to obtain an Airside Driving Permit.
  • Ability to develop positive and productive relationships with stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and strong IT proficiency.
  • Ability to follow established processes while thinking creatively to solve problems when needed.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Experience influencing at all levels of the business.
  • A strong understanding of compliance standards, audit reporting, process documentation, and data management. Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and compliance tracking tools is advantageous.
  • Awareness of CAA 139/2014 requirements and the EU Ground Handling Directive.
  • Practical application of relevant licensing documentation.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You\’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
