As a Senior Editorial Manager this person will be working with senior leadership across the airport to identify communications priorities, ensure they match the requirements of our corporate strategy, and decide what to communicate about in our internal and digital channels. This person will foster a âNewsroomâ environment to the work of internal communications, encouraging their team to think creatively and motivating them to find new angles to stories whenever possible.
Your role will involve:
- Overseeing a team that would work in partnership with leaders across the airport to communicate on their work and how they are delivering against our corporate objectives.
- Line management of a team of ~5 colleagues, motivating them to ensure their work is at its best.
- Responsible for editorial content across internal channels, building a plan of communications activities for the year and ensuring its delivery.
- The Role Holder will be part of a âone communication teamâ approach, demonstrating the flexibility to operate within different functional teams as the need arises.
- Required to be part of the IRT (Incident Response Teams â crisis communications) and Comms Cuts roster.
These Skills Are Essential:
- At least 5 years communications experience, preferably with some experience working in a similarly demanding or comparatively sized organisation at a mid-senior level.
- A diplomatic and experienced influencer who can work with and across numerous teams, clients, and internal stakeholders comfortably.
- Strong team management experience.
- Leadership and influence skills with a strong focus on building consensus and collaboration.
- Strong writing abilities.
- Experience taking a strategic and creative approach to managing internal communications channels.

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow.
