The Delivery Manager – Engineering ensures the effective delivery of all technical and operational training across Heathrow’s Engineering teams, overseeing planning, scheduling and quality assurance. Leading a team, the role drives high performance, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and manages partnerships with internal stakeholders and external providers. The postholder monitors training outcomes, mitigates risks, and maintains training facilities – ensuring colleagues are fully competent to support a safe and compliant airport environment.
Your role will involve:
- Leading the delivery of all technical and operational training across Heathrow Engineering, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Managing and assuring performance of third‑party training providers, including contracts and quality standards.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to forecast training needs and align delivery with operational priorities.
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting on training performance, proactively managing risks and compliance gaps.
- Leading, coaching and managing a team of delivery and/or learning operations specialists through effective performance management.
- Ensuring training facilities, equipment and resources are well maintained and fit for purpose.
- Driving continuous improvement in training delivery, content and learner experience.
These skills are essential:
- Proven experience managing training delivery within a regulated or safety‑critical environment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Strong knowledge of fire, health and safety legislation, with the ability to monitor, analyse and act on compliance data.
- Experience managing third‑party training providers, including contracts, performance and quality assurance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence across operational and specialist teams.
- Strong organisational, planning and data‑driven decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Ideally:
- Professional Qualification in the area of technical training delivery (eg FHS / Eng / Sec etc).
- Professional qualification in training delivery (L3AET etc).
- Professional Quality Assurance qualification.
