We are seeking an Airside Operations Trainer to join our Airside Training Team, where you will play a pivotal role in designing, delivering, and maintaining a broad range of training programmes – including technical, practical, and leadership interventions.

As an Operations Trainer, you will conduct both initial and refresher training, support competency assessments, and collaborate with internal and external partners such as Team Heathrow. Your remit will primarily focus on the Airfield Operations Department, but will also extend to the wider Operations directorate, ensuring ongoing development and operational excellence across the organisation.

This role requires you to obtain and maintain a firearms/shotgun certificate. The application process will check for evidence of disqualifying criminal convictions and also will require you to disclose information (via your GP) about your medical history to check for relevant medical conditions, which you will be responsible for obtaining. Your Role Will Involve:

  • Delivering comprehensive training programmes for colleagues at all levels, ensuring quality and compliance with regulatory requirements, including Initial, Recurrent Training and Winter Training.
  • Maintaining accurate training records and upholding operational standards through systematic auditing and monitoring.
  • Providing expert advice and support to line managers on training matters, promoting operational efficiency and safety.
  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders, fostering effective communication with both internal and external customers.
  • Collaborating with the Learning Design Team to create and enhance training packages, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of airfield regulations and departmental vehicles.

These Skills Are Essential:

  • Experienced in the delivery of effective training packages through different techniques.
  • Led training or adult education programmes.
  • Passion for upholding safety standards demonstrated through excellent communication skills – verbal and written, including report writing.
  • DVLA Driving licence.
