Description As the Senior Manager, Future Airspace & ATM Operations, you will lead the operational development of future airspace, air traffic management (ATM) and air traffic control (ATC) initiatives, ensuring safe, efficient and operationally viable solutions for Heathrow's future growth. Acting as the key link between Operations and Development teams, you will provide subject matter expertise, shape future operating models and support the successful integration of new airspace and ATM capabilities into live operations. Responsibilities Acting as the Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) for future airspace, ATC and ATM projects, ensuring operational feasibility, safety and optimal performance are embedded in all solutions. Shaping future operating models and supporting the development and implementation of airspace and ATM initiatives, including airport growth and expansion programmes. Representing Operations within cross-functional project teams and governance forums, ensuring operational requirements are reflected in strategic decisions. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including NATS, airlines, regulators, government agencies, suppliers and industry bodies to deliver aligned outcomes. Driving operational efficiency through the development of future ATM/ATC capabilities, systems, data solutions and technology roadmaps, ensuring seamless integration into a holistic roadmap for the future. Providing leadership, coaching and technical expertise while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing. Qualifications Proven operational leadership experience within a complex airport, airline or air traffic management environment. Strong knowledge of air traffic control (ATC), air traffic management (ATM), flight performance and airspace operations, within the London TMA environment. Ability to define op models to seamlessly integrate complex initiatives into live operations Good understanding of aviation regulatory frameworks, safety requirements, environmental considerations and airspace policy. Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior internal and external partners. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on operational performance and continuous improvement.
