To develop and improve complex models and methodology ensuring Heathrow’s forecasting capability is world class, using cutting edge tools and techniques, such as machine learning, and driving efficiency through automation.

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering accurate forecasting, capacity analysis, and predictive insights to support the efficient planning, performance, and operation of the airport.
  • Translating complex data and analysis into clear, actionable insights, recommendations, and business implications, applying sound judgement in uncertain and dynamic operational environments.
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex forecasting models, dashboards, and analytical tools, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Presenting technical findings and evidence clearly and concisely to a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and non-technical audiences.
  • Driving continuous improvement by introducing efficient processes, automation, and self-service analytics capabilities, while identifying opportunities to enhance forecasting methodologies and analytical performance.
  • Building strong relationships across the airport community to improve access to data, support model development, foster collaboration, and create a culture of trust, innovation, and high performance.

These Skills Are Essential:

  • Advanced technical and analytical competence, ideally with a broad interest in aviation.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Able to manage and plan own work and to work under tight time deadlines.
  • Object oriented programming experience is crucial, particularly in R, Python, SQL, and must be able to quickly learn new analytical tools such as PowerBi.
  • A good knowledge of forecasting, machine learning and data modelling approaches.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Educated to degree level in a numerate discipline, with advanced understanding of statistics.
  • A good understanding of Spark & Hadoop.
  • Broad knowledge of Databricks and Heathrow is desirable.
