Our team is involved in every element of People and Finance activity. That includes payroll, casework, referencing and onboarding, through to billing, paying suppliers, and month end activities. The Specialist collaborates closely with colleagues across the wider analytics team and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality analytical solutions (i.e., dashboarding, data storytelling, machine learning) for Heathrow’s Finance and People functions. The Role will be focusing on advanced analytics and reporting using Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, Oracle Cloud ADW database and many more exciting tools.
Working within an agile environment, the Specialist partners with stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify data needs, and transform complex data into meaningful, actionable insights. The role is responsible for extracting, analysing and interpreting data from multiple sources, developing robust reporting solutions, and delivering intuitive dashboards and visualisations that support both strategic and operational objectives.
Combining strong technical expertise with a business focused mindset, the Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining reporting solutions, performing complex data analysis, and presenting findings in a professional, engaging and user-friendly manner. The role acts as an advocate for data-driven thinking, applying data storytelling techniques to communicate trends, risks and opportunities, while championing data quality and continuous improvement through the development of robust standards and processes.
Success in the role is achieved through strong technical knowledge, effective stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into practical solutions that deliver measurable value. A proactive, curious, and solution-focused approach is essential to this role.
Your role will involve:
- Build and maintain analytical products (i.e., reports and dashboards) in line with requirements, best practices, and approved tools.
- Design metrics, simplify data querying and visualise insights, maintain data updates and assure quality work to Heathrow standards.
- Ensure high quality analysis and supporting documentation is delivered to support change/process initiatives, project requirements, timescales, and budgets.
- Ability to combine datasets to drive meaningful outputs including ad-hoc deep dive analytics and qualitative & quantitative analysis.
- Support the business community in the learning of the self-serve tool Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence.
In addition to the above, the Specialist is an active member of the analytics community gathering and championing best practices; working to improve themselves and their team through the exploration of new technologies and processes.
These Skills Are Essential:
- Degree-level qualification in a numerate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience extracting, manipulating, validating and presenting large, complex datasets using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python or R.
- Demonstrable commitment to delivering high-quality outputs, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to sharing ideas and identifying solutions.
- Naturally curious, open-minded and motivated to continuously learn and improve.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience of data extraction, transformation and validation using Oracle SQL Developer.
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion and/or Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) within Finance (ERP) and/or People (HCM) environments.
- Understanding of management accounting, financial planning and forecasting principles.
- Knowledge or practical application of Machine Learning and AI techniques.
- Experience working within an Agile delivery environment.

Working location:
Your contractual place of work will be the Heathrow Business Services Centre in Glasgow so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to work. We also have some hybrid roles with a working approach which offers the opportunity for colleagues to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
