Join Heathrow’s Business Services team and you’ll help us deliver our bold ambitions, whilst supporting colleagues to achieve theirs. Our team is involved in every element of People and Finance activity. That includes payroll, casework, referencing and onboarding, through to billing, paying suppliers, and month-end activities. It’s up to us to lead, support and deliver an excellent service across our core processes including:

Join our Finance Service Delivery Team in Glasgow and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of Heathrow. As a Finance Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our mission, ensuring the precision of month-end deliveries and upholding the financial integrity that aligns with Heathrow’s ambitious vision. Your expertise will guide the application and interpretation of company policies, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements. You’ll be a guardian of process excellence, continuously updating and following rigorous controls. Your contributions will resonate through the Balanced Business Scorecard, driving core business strategies and validating operational efficiency with timely data insights. Please note this is a 12 month FTC.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Processing manual journals to ensure the accuracy of financial data
- Understanding of transactional flows to provide analysis and insight on Profit & Loss Accounts versus budgeting
- Commentary on Financial Performance and Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Identifying trends and providing reporting to key business stakeholders
- Identifying trends in variance analysis to identify risks and opportunities and support the preparation of functional budgets
- Maintaining key customer relationships to ensure a value-add service, with regular engagement between Heathrow and Finance Service Delivery to promote an integrated team approach across locations
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- High numeracy and strong analytical skills
- Curiosity and the drive to question processes to become more efficient
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of stakeholders both written and verbally
- Flexibility, self-motivation, and strong organisational skills
- The ability to work on own initiative, without close supervision to plan, prioritise and work to deadlines
- Experience of working in a fast-paced changing environment

Your contractual place of work will be the Heathrow Business Services Centre in Glasgow so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to work. We also have some hybrid roles with a working approach which offers the opportunity for colleagues to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
