At Heathrow, you can be part of this – providing solutions that make every journey better for millions each year. That means ensuring we meet the changing needs of the passengers, colleagues and partners who use our airport to work, travel, trade, shop, eat, explore and connect.

Our Solutions team covers project management, process improvement, business change, technology, cyber defence, masterplanning, infrastructure and procurement. It brings together people with the skills to deliver prestigious and often large‑scale projects, from transforming terminals to making big reductions in our carbon emissions.

As an Enterprise Architect, you will define and govern the enterprise architecture framework across business, data, applications and technology domains. Acting as the bridge between strategy and delivery, you will ensure that major programmes and investment decisions are aligned to organisational priorities, regulatory requirements and operational resilience. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Digital, Operations, Commercial and Finance to translate strategic objectives into clear architectural roadmaps. Leading architecture governance and assurance, you will guide domain and solution architects, promote best practice and ensure solutions are secure, compliant and built for long‑term sustainability. This is a senior, high‑visibility role influencing how technology enables growth, efficiency and resilience across the airport ecosystem.

Your role will involve:

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy, principles and reference models across business, information, applications and technology domains.
  • Ensure architectural alignment with the airport’s strategic goals, transformation roadmap and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead enterprise architecture governance, including review boards and assurance activities for major programmes and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to translate strategic objectives into architecture roadmaps and solution blueprints.
  • Advise on technology investment decisions and solution evaluations from an enterprise architecture perspective.
  • Ensure integration of sustainability, cybersecurity and resilience principles into architecture decisions.

These Skills Are Essential:

  • Experience as an Enterprise Architect working across multiple architecture domains, preferably in a regulated environment with complex interconnected operations, safety and security constraints, and a high customer impact.
  • Enterprise Architecture modelling, using Archimate 3.x, preferably using BizzDesign. This will include capturing the current architecture baseline across business, data, applications, and technology, as well as modelling target and interim states to support portfolio and investment planning.
  • Demonstrable experience of transformation in one or more of the following: Transport/aviation sector systems, customer‑centric digital platforms, enterprise integration or critical national infrastructure.
  • Experience of managing architecture governance and assurance, ensuring design decisions align with strategy, best practice, and implement appropriate risk treatment.
  • Engaging senior stakeholders, communicating effectively, presenting outcomes and rational without the need for stakeholders to understand technical details.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with Agile delivery at scale (e.g. experience with Scaled Agile Framework or equivalent).
