Job Description

Joining Engineering means stepping into a role at the heart of Heathrow’s operation. We’re looking for a skilled and safety-focused Engineering technicians to help deliver high-quality maintenance and engineering services across our airport facilities.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our Terminal 2 systems are reliable, efficient and compliant, keeping passengers and operations flowing smoothly. It’s a fast-paced, rewarding environment where every task challenges your skills and gives you the opportunity to make a real impact.

Salary: £44,765 plus shift allowance. Shift pattern 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off.

Your role will involve

  • Enabling Heathrow’s passengers to experience the best airport service in the world, through maintaining a broad range of electrical and mechanical facilities such as lighting, mechanical plant rooms, air handling units and air bridges.
  • Investigating faulty or poor-performing assets, identifying improvements and implementing meaningful change to improve the airport experience.
  • Keeping records up to date, for example, the maintenance history of our assets, to create efficiency and meet Heathrow’s regulatory requirements.
  • Showcasing your passion for ‘doing the right thing’, by proactively spotting hazards, reducing risks, and creating a safer environment for all.
  • Champion continuous improvement and best practice.

Essential Skills

  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline. Please note a degree would not be equivalent to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3.
  • Full UK driving licence including the ability to obtain and maintain airside licences and permits
  • Strong hands-on experience, gained within an engineering environment.
  • Analytical thinking and sound problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise in a complex and fast-paced setting.
