Heathrow Airport is seeking an experienced and driven Airside Standards Manager to lead the development and oversight of all operational standards related to airside activities. This includes airside driving, vehicle compliance, and the safe operation and lifecycle management of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
This is a Monday to Friday role. Some out of hours working may be required due to the nature of inspections.
- Maintain and enforce airside policies and standards in line with CAA, ICAO, and Heathrow-specific requirements.
- Lead the creation and revision of operational standards for airside infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment.
- Monitor and manage non-compliance issues, ensuring resolution and sharing of lessons learned.
- Engage with the Team Heathrow community, contractors, and internal teams to ensure standards are understood and upheld.
- Lead working groups focused on airside driving and equipment standards.
- Track emerging risks and trends to inform updates to policies and processes.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to airside standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Holds a valid driving licence.
- Working experience within aviation airside operations or aviation compliance.
- Working knowledge of relevant CAA CAPs (. CAP 168, CAP 642) and how they apply to airside operational standards.
- Strong understanding of airside driving regulations, including Heathrow policies, and relevant ICAO standards for safe vehicle movement airside.
- Understanding of GSE operations and ground handling activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
