The Assay Technician is responsible for processing, preparing, assaying, and hallmarking precious metal articles in accordance with established procedures. The role requires excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work accurately within a regulated environment while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and prepare articles for assay and hallmarking.
- Conduct assessments and assay testing in line with procedures.
- Apply hallmarks accurately and efficiently.
- Carry out remedial work on jewellery products where required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
- Report defective equipment promptly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all quality, health and safety, and company procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to handle jewellery and small components with precision.
- Ability to occasionally handle heavier articles.
