We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead and develop our warehouse operation within a growing freight and e-commerce environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient warehouse performance, maintaining compliance standards, implementing operational improvements, and leading a team to achieve high levels of productivity, accuracy, and customer service. This role requires a hands-on manager with strong freight and warehouse experience, excellent systems knowledge, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure full compliance with ETSF requirements, customs procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse staff, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and improve warehouse processes, systems, and operational procedures to enhance efficiency and service levels.
  • Oversee stock control, inventory accuracy, and warehouse housekeeping standards.
  • Utilise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and scanning technology to maximise operational performance and traceability.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, conducting regular audits, risk assessments, and staff training where required.
  • Work closely with freight, transport, customer service, and management teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Manage warehouse resources effectively, including labour planning and equipment utilisation.
  • Produce operational reports and performance data for senior management.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager, ideally within a freight, logistics, distribution, or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of ETSF operations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within an e-commerce fulfilment environment.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence (B1) essential.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and warehouse best practices.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology.
  • Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse operational systems.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing new processes, systems, and operational improvements.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence B2.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Customs, bonded warehouse, or international freight experience.
  • Experience managing change projects and warehouse system implementations.
