We are seeking a motivated Trainee Transport / Warehouse Operative to join a busy air freight team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both Air Export and Import cargo handling within a secure transit warehouse environment.
You will receive full training, including forklift operation and aviation cargo procedures, making this an ideal role for someone looking to start or develop a career in logistics and air freight.
Key Responsibilities- Handling Air Export and Import freight within the warehouse
- Labelling and preparing air export cargo for shipment
- Assisting with air import cargo handling, including receiving and releasing bonded goods
- Supporting cargo security procedures, ensuring compliance with current aviation regulations
- Operating warehouse equipment (forklift training provided)
- Assisting with general warehouse duties as required
- Full forklift training provided
- Training in air cargo handling and labelling procedures
- Exposure to ERTS cargo handling processes
- Introduction to transport planning and logistics coordination, including:
- Planning transport using company vehicles and subcontractors
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Producing and reviewing weekly job reports
- Ensuring cost-effective transport operations
