We are looking for an experienced Sea Freight Import Supervisor with strong FCL experience to join our clients busy import team in Basildon. This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will manage FCL shipments, support the wider team, oversee workloads and ensure shipments are handled efficiently from origin through to final delivery.
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30AM - 5:30PM
Location: Basildon
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day FCL import operation
- Manage FCL shipments from origin to final delivery
- Support, guide and develop team members
- Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, warehouses and overseas agents
- Monitor container allocations, availability and carrier performance
- Coordinate customs clearance, transport and deliveries
- Resolve operational issues and customer queries
- Manage key customer accounts and support the Sales team
- Ensure accurate shipment records and documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
Experience Required:
- Strong FCL Sea Freight Import experience essential
- Good knowledge of the end-to-end FCL import process
- Understanding of Bills of Lading, shipping documentation and UK customs
- Experience working with shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Previous supervisory or team support experience would be advantageous
