We are currently recruiting for an Import Clerk to join our client’s team based in Sunbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of experience in import operations who is looking to develop their skills and progress within the freight forwarding industry.
Position Details
- Location: Sunbury
- Salary: £34,000–£35,000 per annum
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
- Experience required: 1–2 years in imports
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing air and road import shipments from arrival through to completion.
- Preparing and processing customs entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Coordinating import documentation and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed correctly.
- Liaising with customers, carriers, and other relevant parties to ensure the smooth movement of shipments.
- Using Sequoia software to manage import processes and update shipment information.
- Supporting the wider team with daily operational tasks and helping to resolve any shipment-related issues.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1–2 years of experience working within import operations, preferably in a freight forwarding environment.
- A good understanding of air and/or road import processes.
- Experience preparing customs entries.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing tasks efficiently.
- Experience using Sequoia would be advantageous, although familiarity with the system is not essential.
Training and development will be provided, particularly for any transport modes you may not have worked with previously, making this a great opportunity for someone keen to broaden their knowledge and develop their experience across air and road imports.
