This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced airfreight professional with a strong commercial mindset and a background in procurement, carrier management, pricing and capacity planning.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering airfreight procurement strategies, managing airline relationships and optimising costs, capacity and service performance. Working closely with operational teams, stations, gateways and airline partners, you will help drive commercial results, improve operational efficiency and support the wider UK network.
- Execute global procurement strategies, working closely with airline partners to secure capacity and deliver commercial objectives.
- Manage airfreight pricing through contractual agreements and spot rate negotiations, ensuring competitive market positioning.
- Plan consolidations and secure capacity in collaboration with operations teams and UK stations.
- Optimise consolidation performance and manage volume-paid controls to maximise cost efficiency.
- Oversee the commercial management of gateway shipments, consolidations and selected back-to-back shipments.
- Define, implement and manage internal airfreight rates.
- Analyse market conditions, customer requirements and supply-and-demand trends to identify commercial opportunities.
- Identify and implement local corrective actions, escalating issues to global teams where appropriate.
- Provide market intelligence and pricing updates to support informed commercial decision-making.
- Offer guidance and support to the wider UK network on procurement, pricing and carrier-related matters.
- Monitor carrier performance using internal reporting and implement improvements where required.
- Ensure all activities comply with the company's Code of Conduct, anti-corruption policies and relevant compliance requirements.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:
- Experience in the airfreight industry, preferably with at least five years in a commercial, procurement or carrier management role.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of airfreight pricing, procurement and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure competitive rates and build effective supplier relationships.
- A good understanding of airfreight operations, consolidations and capacity planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with internal stakeholders and external airline partners.
- The ability to analyse market information, identify opportunities and make commercially sound decisions.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a strong commitment to achieving results.
- A collaborative attitude, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a wider network.
