We are currently seeking an experienced and senior Air Export Clerk to join a busy logistics team based in Feltham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in air freight or freight forwarding who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced export operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing air export shipments from initial booking through to departure, ensuring all documentation, customs requirements and operational processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 18.00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Manage air export shipments from booking through to departure.
- Liaise with airlines, customers, freight forwarders, hauliers and customs agents.
- Prepare and check export documentation, including Air Waybills and commercial invoices.
- Ensure shipments comply with customs, airline and security requirements.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide customers with timely updates.
- Arrange cargo collections and deliveries, ensuring all details are accurate.
- Handle shipment delays, amendments and operational queries.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal systems.
- Coordinate with overseas agents and support the wider export team when required.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience in air freight.
- A strong understanding of air export procedures and international freight movements.
- Familiarity with export documentation and customs clearance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling shipment information.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage operational issues effectively.
- Competent IT skills and confidence using freight management systems.
- A customer-focused attitude and the ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
