We are recruiting for an experienced Airfreight Operations Specialist to join our client's business in the Heathrow area.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced freight professional who is confident working independently and taking complete ownership of their workload.
You will be responsible for managing airfreight operations from start to finish, with full responsibility for your shipments, customers and day-to-day workload. This is a role where you will have the freedom to manage your own work and use your experience to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Location: Heathrow
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Working Pattern: Fully office-based
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing airfreight shipments from start to finish
- Handling both air imports and exports
- Taking full ownership of your own workload
- Managing inbox and customer enquiries
- Handling invoicing and relevant documentation
- Liaising directly with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
- Coordinating shipments and ensuring deadlines are met
- Dealing with customs entries and shipping documentation
- Preparing freight quotations and obtaining competitive rates and routing options
- Supporting spot rate requests and identifying cost-effective freight solutions
- Preparing and checking air waybills, customs and other freight documentatio
- Resolving operational issues independently
- Supporting sea and road freight movements where required
- Keeping customers updated throughout the shipment process
