About The Role
M Group are seeking a Land & Utilities Surveyor to join their Survey team. This role will involve you primarily supporting their Aviation, Defence, and Adjacent Markets sectors covering projects around the Southeast and Midlands. The Survey team provides technical services to a range of construction related disciplines, including invaluable support to our divisional teams and departments within design and construction phases of projects. This role would be based around the Southern half of the country - suitable for existing Surveyors or Engineers, or highly motivated Assistant Surveyors looking to progress their career to the next level.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leading a team undertaking utility and or land surveys
- Mapping land features, locating underground utilities before construction work can begin
- Responsible for excellent safety, standards and quality being maintained throughout the project
- Using specialised equipment to gather and analyse data, that is crucial for airport planning, construction, and maintenance
- Compiling survey reports based off of findings to help reduce project delays and damage to infrastructure
About You
What you'll bring (Essential Skills and Experience):
- Experienced in leading teams undertaking land or utility surveys
- Excellent ability to communicate with all departments of the internal survey and other project teams
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly (shift / away from base location)
- Basic site setting out skills
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interpret technical information and drawings
- Ability to compile survey reports
- Desire for self-development and continuous self-improvement
- Full UK driving license
- 5yr Traceable employment
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience of using GPR scanners, GPS and RD series equipment
- Good knowledge of PAS128 and its standards
- Working on Railway projects
- Laser scanning
- PTS accreditation
- Basic knowledge of N4CE software
- Level 3/4/5 QCF Certificate in Utility Mapping and Surveying
- Holder of CSCS accreditation
- Permit To Dig experience
