Job Description

We\'re seeking a dynamic Training & Competency Manager to support Heathrow\'s engineering development. This role involves managing apprentices and graduates, maintaining competency frameworks, and ensuring a skilled, safe workforce.

You will lead training needs analysis, competency assessments, and program delivery, collaborating with internal trainers, assessors, and external providers. Your work will support pay progression, compliance, and continuous improvement in Engineering & Baggage.

Responsibilities

  • Line managing apprentices and graduates, providing coaching and support.
  • Implementing and maintaining competency frameworks for engineering roles and contractors.
  • Conducting training needs analysis and developing assessment plans.
  • Supporting internal training courses and standardizing documentation.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to align training with strategic goals.
  • Promoting STEM and outreach initiatives to enhance diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a training and competency role within a technical environment.
  • Understanding of apprenticeship and graduate frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital learning tools.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 3+ in Engineering, L&D, or related fields.
  • Level 4 IQA, Train the Trainer (AET), Assessor (ACWE), and Safeguarding qualifications.
