Job Description
The role of the Senior Strategy Manager includes a variety of responsibilities, such as researching long-term innovative technology, leading initiatives to take advantage of strategic opportunities, and defining the short-term change agenda necessary for effective strategy implementation. This position will play a key role in shaping the future of the airport.
The role holder should address problems with a logical and analytical approach. They will manage the entire project lifecycle, from framing the question and analyzing insights and data, to providing and presenting strategic options and gaining support for the preferred approach.
Collaboration with stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams in developing comprehensive business strategies will be essential. Success in this role requires a strong strategic and analytical orientation, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative nature with the ability to build lasting relationships.
This role demands a mix of technical and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to effectively “story tell”. Vision, energy, enthusiasm, and focus are required, along with contextual sensitivity and the ability to influence across a wide range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and describing our strategic context (market, competitors, customers) in order to partner with the Executive team and senior leader to set the strategic direction for Heathrow.
- Creating alignment between the corporate strategy and functional strategies through the development of meaningful working relationships with key strategic people.
- Driving the successful execution of the strategy through strong communication, including preparing Board and company-wide presentations, as well as close collaboration with Finance and PMO to define and deliver the change agenda.
- Steering multi-disciplinary teams from around the business, working to define strategies and drive execution of complex, cross-functional and high impact initiatives.
- Executing complex strategic modelling and discovering, analysing and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets to perform strategic analysis and research.
- Providing support and guidance to analysts within the team, including direct line management of strategy analysts where required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience within corporate strategy, simplifying and solving complex and ambiguous problems.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills coupled with the ability to approach the solutions creatively.
- Excellent written and oral communication, to interact and influence credibly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including senior management.
- Confident with Excel and PowerPoint.
- At ease working with teams of internal and external stakeholders – open, honest & collaborative style.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
