The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including IATA, and take ownership of the ongoing effectiveness of ISAGO accreditation across the ground handling community, including cargo operators. Using data, insights and operational intelligence, you'll proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, working in partnership with internal Heathrow teams and the wider airside community to deliver improvement initiatives that achieve measurable benefits in safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and influence the ground handling environment, aligning teams and strengthening HAL's position with airport stakeholders.
  • Lead a small shift-based team to oversee safe, compliant day-to-day ramp operations, including airside vehicles, equipment and infrastructure.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners, including Airside Performance and Airside Licensing, to address operational and performance issues across third-party ground handlers.
  • Engage and manage stakeholders to support the successful delivery of operational and improvement projects.
  • Represent Ground Handling at key operational forums, deputising where required, and assess the impact of provider changes on safe and efficient airside operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in ground handling or experience of the issues associated with working within a regulated industry.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of the HAL client organisation, internal staff, airlines and framework consultants and contractors.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to articulate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • A valid UK driving license and occupational health medical check to enable the successful post holder to obtain an Airside Driving Permit.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Knowledge of airport operations.
  • Ability to lead effectively both directly and within a matrix organisation.
  • Working knowledge of the EU Ground handling directive.
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of Just Culture.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
