Heathrow Engineering is seeking a Resilience Manager to support the development of contingencies and prepare Engineering colleagues for responding to future incidents. This established role offers a wide remit and significant influence, involving both Engineering activities and the wider airport operation. Please note that this role requires CTC clearance - please only apply if you have been a UK resident for the past 3 years.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Engineering has the right plans and capabilities in place, exercising these to provide resilience across the operation.
- Support wider Engineering colleagues during incident responses and conduct debriefs to identify learnings for future resilience improvements.
- Partner with the engineering community to identify critical assets and processes, evaluate risks, and establish monitoring, control procedures, and contingency plans.
- Plan and execute multi-agency live exercises.
- Coordinate the contingency response to planned events involving external emergency services, internal responders, and other transport providers.
- Brief senior leaders on contingencies for major asset replacement projects and develop contingency plans for key Heathrow assets such as the firemain and chilled water system.
- Support all aspects of Crisis Management within Engineering, including developing training and exercising programs.
Qualifications
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Proficient IT skills to develop key documents and train colleagues.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including in high-pressure situations.
- Experience in project managing improvement works.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentational skills.
- Event management experience, similar to running an exercise.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Further education in an Engineering field or a sound understanding of emergency response and crisis management.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
