Together, we’re working to welcome millions more passengers while ensuring aviation can continue to be a force for good by leading global efforts in sustainability. At Heathrow, you can be part of this – providing solutions that make every journey better for millions each year. That means ensuring we meet the changing needs of the passengers, colleagues and partners who use our airport to work, travel, trade, shop, eat, explore and connect.
Our Solutions team covers project management, process improvement, business change, technology, cyber defence, master planning, infrastructure and procurement. It brings together people with the skills to deliver prestigious and often large-scale projects, from transforming terminals to making big reductions in our carbon emissions. Every day will test your skills and give you the opportunity to make your mark.
You might be working with the technology and data that power our city within a city, driving vital commercial agreements with everyone from retailers to airlines, or improving the unique infrastructure that includes everything from 200 buildings to 250 HV substations. It’s a collaborative environment, where you can rely on the support of the experts around you as you take on projects you’ll both take pride in and feel passionate about.
As Heathrow's IT Business Manager (also known as IT Business Lead), you’ll be the practical go-to person who keeps IT connected to the rest of the airport: turning IT data and metrics into clear reports and dashboards that executives actually understand and use, running effective internal communications (like town halls and updates), building strong working relationships across teams, and making sure everyone sees how IT delivers real business value—while keeping everything aligned with Heathrow's goals.
Develop and run a straightforward, effective IT communication plan that keeps everyone—from the IT Leadership Team to the wider airport business—aligned with IT strategy and Heathrow’s overall goals. Pull together IT performance data from different teams (operations, finance, cyber, etc.), turn it into simple, easy-to-read reports, dashboards, and executive summaries that non-technical leaders can actually understand and act on. Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships across the organisation, acting as the main point of contact for IT-related questions, updates, and requests from both inside IT and the rest of Heathrow.
Organise and deliver regular internal events (e.g., town halls, leadership forums) and produce clear, professional materials (presentations, case studies, FAQs) to showcase what IT is delivering and why it matters to the business. Continuously gather feedback, spot ways to improve how IT communicates and reports, and make sure IT is seen as a reliable, valuable partner that directly supports Heathrow’s success.
These skills are essential:
- Strong strategic communication skills, with proven ability to take complex IT concepts, data and technical details and turn them into clear, compelling messages that non-technical stakeholders (executives, board members, business leaders) can easily understand and act on.
- Excellent written and visual communication expertise, including creating professional presentations, executive reports, dashboards, and other materials using tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and ideally Power BI or Tableau.
- Solid experience interpreting and working with IT performance metrics and data from multiple sources (e.g. operations, finance, cyber security), then synthesising it into concise, actionable insights and visual summaries.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills — building trust-based relationships, engaging diverse stakeholder groups across the organisation, and communicating effectively without formal authority.
- Highly organised with a track record of coordinating and delivering impactful internal events (e.g. town halls, leadership forums) and managing ongoing communication channels while maintaining consistent quality, branding and tone.
