Our newly formed Future Skills team at Heathrow ensures employees are equipped for future success through impactful learning, training, and talent solutions. The L&D Manager, reporting to a Senior L&D Manager, acts as a hands‑on consultant within a defined portfolio, either Induction & Leadership, Professional & Essential Skills or Future Skills. They will design and deliver learning products tailored to Heathrow's evolving needs. Responsible for development and product ownership of key portfolio products, the role involves creating digital, in-person, and hybrid learning experiences, applying the 5Di learning design method, and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. Collaboration with internal teams and external agencies for specialist digital support ensures quality, agility, and a unified approach to workforce development.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing learning products across digital, in-person, and hybrid formats that address capability gaps within the assigned portfolio (e.g. Leadership, Future Skills, Professional & Essential Skills).
- Curating and maintaining structured learning pathways and digital content that supports development, performance improvement, and strategic workforce priorities.
- Acting as a Learning Consultant in performance consulting sprints, working with stakeholders to identify capability gaps and shape targeted learning interventions.
- Project managing talent and learning events and programmes, ensuring smooth scheduling, communications, and logistics.
- Work with the Talent & Learning Design team and external vendors to ensure consistent design standards and maximise creative input.
- Report learning outcomes and impact to relevant senior stakeholders, ensuring learning solutions impact performance and business results.
Qualifications
- Experience designing and developing evidence‑based, performance‑driven learning products across digital, in‑person, and hybrid formats, leveraging advanced learning design methods, technologies, and analytics.
- Proven ability to strategically consult with stakeholders, delivering ‘define’ workshops and ‘discovery’ sprints to diagnose performance issues and complex capability needs, and design end‑to‑end learning ecosystems that deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Experience managing end‑to‑end learning production, including learning needs analysis, product/event design, planning, logistics, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience owning the delivery and implementation of enterprise‑level learning products and programmes, with accountability for quality assurance, impact measurement, and stakeholder influence.
- Experience working with and managing external vendors, delivery partners, and creative teams to deliver high‑quality learning solutions.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
