Job Description
Are you ready to make a real impact at one of the world\’s busiest airports? As a Baggage Operational Assurance Manager, you\’ll play a key role in ensuring that every project and change across Heathrow\’s baggage systems runs smoothly and supports our operational excellence.
From early design through to final handover, you\’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs, align with Heathrow\’s standards, and support our long-term strategy. Your work will help mitigate risk and keep our baggage operations running efficiently, delivering a seamless experience for millions of passengers.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Airport Operations – Baggage, Baggage Engineering, Airline and Baggage Handler teams to fully understand their risks and requirements and ensure that they are delivered.
- Maintaining accurate records of operational processes, resource, cost, and business impacts to provide timely reports to stakeholders, including the Baggage Approval Board.
- Assuring project solutions against the agreed Baggage Strategies and standards for operability, maintainability, manual handling and safety.
- Working with the project and operational teams to drive plans to maintain operational performance.
- Communicate the Baggage Assurance activities and timelines to Operational teams.
- Work collaboratively across the blended Strategic Partnership team to deliver the operational assurance service.
Qualifications
- Experienced in the Baggage Operational and/or maintenance & IT service delivery environment.
- A working knowledge of Document management, P6 Primavera, Change Control, or similar project management processes and software.
- The ability to work under pressure to drive solutions through the relevant channels.
- Strong leadership skills, to manage directly employed and supplier resources.
- The ability to link strategic planning to live projects.
- Strong organisational, process and time management skills.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You\’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
