We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 or Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly early years team at Heathland's Community Pre-school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development within a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging activities in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues
  • Observe, assess and record children’s progress and development
  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are always met
  • Promote good behaviour and positive interactions
  • Assist with daily routines including mealtimes, toileting and sleep routines
  • Maintain accurate records and follow nursery policies and procedures
  • Work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to the nursery environment

Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, patient and positive attitude
  • Ability to work using own initiative

Desirable:

  • Previous nursery or early years experience
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification
  • Food Hygiene certificate
