An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a four-year Engineering Apprenticeship programme at Heathcoat Fabrics, working towards a Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician qualification. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals with a genuine interest in engineering to gain hands-on experience with the UK’s leading technical textile manufacturer.

From day one, you will become part of our experienced engineering team, receiving high-quality mentoring, structured training and real workplace responsibility while developing the practical and technical skills needed for a successful engineering career.

What the successful candidate will be doing

  • Learning how to maintain and service industrial plant equipment
  • Diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults
  • Repairing and improving production machinery
  • Applying Heathcoat’s quality and safety standards to protect people, products and processes
  • Working across several areas within our manufacturing site, including Mechanical, Electrical and Utilities departments
  • Developing strong problem-solving and teamwork skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

What we’re looking for

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English, plus either Maths or Science
  • A demonstrable interest in engineering and technology
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to travel to college for day release when required
