Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Window and Door Installer role based in Cardiff. The Window and Door Installer will be responsible for the professional installation of aluminum and uPVC windows and doors in domestic properties and on selected commercial or project-based sites. Day-to-day tasks include measuring openings, preparing work areas, safely removing existing units, fitting and sealing new products, and ensuring all installations meet company quality standards and relevant regulations. The role also involves using hand and power tools, maintaining a clean and safe worksite, and completing basic documentation such as job sheets and installation reports. The installer will interact with customers on-site, address basic queries, and represent the company with a courteous, professional attitude. Collaboration with team members, punctual timekeeping, and adherence to health and safety procedures are essential.
Qualifications
- Practical installation skills: proven experience installing windows and doors (aluminum and/or uPVC), including accurate measuring, fitting, sealing, and finishing.
- Technical and tool proficiency: confident use of hand and power tools, ability to read basic drawings or job specifications, and understanding of building and safety regulations relevant to installations.
- Quality and safety focus: attention to detail, commitment to high-quality workmanship, safe lifting and handling practices, and consistent adherence to health and safety procedures on-site.
- Customer service and teamwork: clear communication skills, professional and respectful behavior with customers, ability to work effectively as part of an installation team, and willingness to support colleagues as needed.
- Organization and reliability: strong time management, ability to work to schedules, reliable attendance, and readiness to work in varied weather conditions and at different sites within South Wales.
- Beneficial qualifications: prior experience in glazing, carpentry, or construction; relevant trade certifications or NVQs; a valid driver’s license and access to transport; and eligibility to work in the UK.
