Experienced CNC Compression Setter Operator required to join a dynamic new company with exciting future guaranteed, through currently secured long-term customer contracts. As a leading manufacturer of high-quality springs and pressings, serving a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical, and consumer goods, your role within the organisation will involve setting and operating various CNC compression spring-making machines (section circa 12 machines), to ensure products are manufactured to the highest quality and to required deadlines.
Suitable candidates for the role should possess a background in automotive manufacturing and must have extensive experience of setting and operating various CNC compression spring-making machines. The position is offered as a permanent contract on day shift, with competitive rates of pay, pension and immediate start available.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Set and operate various CNC torsion spring-making machines including Wafios, Itaya PC8/15/38 and Itaya CX15 and Nucoil machines.
- Have experience of setting various compression spring grinding machines including Bennett and Wafios brands.
- Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments.
- Adjust machine control, including part process.
- Verify “first piece inspection” using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Monitor the work being undertaken and completed, testing and taking agreed critical measurements to identify problems and the need for adjustment and to immediately make any adjustments as necessary.
- Undertake agreed CNC inspection.
- Maintain accurate data/records/documentation associated with your work.
- Carry out tasks within allotted time limits.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies and procedures, codes and legislation including health and safety.
- Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers to line manager.
- Contribute towards the smooth running of the team.
- Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet agreed budgetary controls.
- Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures.
- Extensive experience of setting and operating various CNC compression spring-making machines including the equipment specified and the setting of compression spring grinding machines.
- Capable of working on own initiative and running a section of up to 12 machines.
- Experience of setting and running stainless steel and carbon wire up to 6mm diameter.
- Fully experienced and conversant with high-volume automotive production and quality standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Reliable, dedicated with high attention to detail.
