Do you have a level 3 in Health and Social Care or a subject similar but not fully relevant to early years and would like to become a qualified Nursery Practitioner? Have you just left school and looking for a first job and training opportunity? Now has never been a better time to start a career in Childcare!

With 20 years of childcare experience, and a dedicated Apprenticeship Co‑Ordinator, KZAR Childcare is expertly suited to supporting your position and helping you become a qualified practitioner through a variety of routes to suit your past qualifications, life stage and experience. There have never been more diverse ways of becoming qualified to suit our needs and learning style.

What do I need for this role?

  • First and foremost, you need a natural passion for childcare and early years - to be fun, imaginative, full of energy and have those qualities that are so special that they can’t be taught. If you have these, then you’re 50% of the way there!
  • (For an apprentice role): have Maths and English GCSE 9-4 (A*-D).
  • For an ‘Experienced Based route’ - you can be trained in as little as 6 months to become a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Practitioner. To qualify for this route, you must hold: A level 2 qualification that is full and relevant to Early Years OR hold a level 3 or above qualification that is relevant to the care or education of children, but is not full and relevant. AND have a minimum of 1 year’s experience of working with early years children in an early years setting, or a related sector, for a minimum of 1 year in England.

And then what?

Depending on which category you fall into, you would either be signed up to our training provider for a formal 18 month Level 2 or 3 Early Years Educator course, or trained in house between 751-900 working hours (the equivalent of 6 months full time hours) to complete an Experience Based Route to translate and upgrade your current qualification.

Both roles include working within the setting and the children to understand their daily routines, curriculum and care needs. You would become a key person to a small group of children and be responsible for understanding and supporting their developmental needs, planning engaging and inviting activities for them and working with their parents to ensure a strong partnership between nursery and home. You will understand safeguarding, the EYFS, early years laws and regulation, Ofsted and how to prepare a child for school and support with any additional Special Educational Needs.

Your apprentice assessor or our in-house coordinator would observe you doing practical activities with the children to demonstrate that you are competent in all elements of the role and to sign off your qualification modules. For apprentices, you would also be required to complete some theory work and training courses both in working and own time.

We celebrate!

You gain a pay rise and the nursery world becomes your oyster - with opportunities to go for promotion or continue training in different areas within early years. Starting rates of pay between: £8-£12.71 per hour.

What can this role give me?

  • An unparalleled training experience and fast route to becoming a qualified Early Years Practitioner.
  • We don’t pay apprentice wages.
  • Birthday as a paid day off.
  • Healthcare and 24/7 private dr appointment access.
  • 24/7 access to Mental Health support and confidential Counselling.
  • Employee of the month bonuses.
  • Staff events (summer/ christmas party).
