Heated Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced Senior Domestic Plumber / Heating Engineer to join our team.
This is a varied, mobile position covering plumbing and heating installation, maintenance and repair work across Kent.
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of projects, so no two days will be the same.
As a senior engineer, you will be trusted to assess, plan, undertake and complete work independently, safely and to a consistently high standard.
You will also represent the company professionally when working in customers' homes and alongside clients, contractors and other trades.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out domestic plumbing and heating installations, maintenance and repairs.
- Complete first-fix and second-fix plumbing work.
- Diagnose faults and identify effective, practical solutions.
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures, pipework, valves, pumps and associated components.
- Install, maintain, test and commission plumbing and heating systems.
- Service, repair and work on boilers where appropriately qualified and Gas Safe registered for the relevant work category.
- Plan jobs, identify required materials and complete work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Ensure all work meets applicable regulations, manufacturer instructions and company standards.
- Complete job sheets, test records, certificates and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, colleagues, suppliers and other trades.
- Protect customers' property and leave work areas clean, safe and tidy.
- Take proper care of the company vehicle, equipment and materials.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Support colleagues and contribute practical knowledge when working as part of a wider team.

Essential requirements
- Minimum Level 2 NVQ in Plumbing and Heating, or a recognised equivalent.
- At least six years’ relevant industry experience.
- Strong practical experience across domestic plumbing and heating installation, maintenance and repair.
- Ability to undertake and complete work independently without routine supervision.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Own suitable hand tools.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, organised and able to manage a mobile workload across Kent.
- Professional approach to workmanship, safety and customers' homes.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable requirements
- Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing and Heating, or equivalent.
- Current domestic gas qualifications and Gas Safe registration covering the relevant categories of work.
- Experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing domestic boilers.
- Additional plumbing, heating or manufacturer-specific qualifications.
