About the Role:
We are seeking a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our team, primarily based at our Helsby site with responsibility for supporting two additional sites in Stockport as required. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that is currently undergoing significant investment and positive change, offering the chance to be involved in projects, machinery upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates must be willing to travel between Helsby and Stockport sites and be flexible to shift work when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple manufacturing sites
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on manufacturing machinery and equipment
- Give technical support on installation, commissioning, and projects across various departments
- Work autonomously with the projects team on equipment upgrades and site improvements
- Ensure minimal downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams
- Follow health & safety procedures and engineering best practices
Essential Experience:
- Minimum qualification: HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Knowledge of PLCs, inverters, motors, pumps, and encoders
- Ability to read electrical drawings and carry out electrical/circuit modifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong team player with good communication skills
Desired Experience:
- Siemens PLCs and electrical fault finding
- Extrusion knowledge
- Temperature controlled systems knowledge
- Adaptable to new systems, processes, and company growth
