At Heat Geek, we are tackling the UK's biggest carbon contributor: home heating. 20% of all UK carbon emissions stems from residential temperature regulation – and that contribution percentage is even bigger on a global scale. By simplifying the process and revolutionising the technology, we are getting more heat pumps into homes and slashing carbon emissions in the process.
People are at the core of who we are and what we do. From decreasing homeowners' energy bills to help with the cost of living, to empowering talented heating engineers to perform outstanding installations, to ensuring a greener world for all of us, we believe in the power of what we can all do together. We need passionate, talented, hard-working people to be a part of this journey.
This is a hybrid video production role designed for someone who loves being behind the camera as much as they do in the edit suite. You'll be hands-on with our shoots – supporting with camera, audio, lighting, and the logistics that make great content possible. Whether it's filming in a boiler room or a YouTube studio setup, you'll be a key part of turning technical subjects into watchable, high-performing content.
When we're not shooting, you'll be in the edit – cutting longer-form YouTube videos and helping create vertical shorts and social clips. You'll work closely with the Senior Editor to ensure our publishing calendar stays on track and our content feels fresh and relevant.
Role Outputs:
- Take a lead role in supporting shoots (camera operation, lighting, sound, and gear setup)
- Help plan and prep shoot days, including kit management and studio or on-location logistics
- Film b-roll, internal interviews, product demos, and technical content
- Edit long-form YouTube content to a publish-ready standard
- Create social-first verticals, shorts, and cutdowns that translate well across platforms
- Collaborate with the Senior Editor and wider team to maintain quality and meet content deadlines
- Stay on top of edit timelines and help keep the pipeline running smoothly
Candidate Requirements:
- Confident with camera operation (DSLRs, mirrorless or cinema) and lighting basics
- Able to rig and monitor basic audio setups (e.g. lavs, shotguns, recorders)
- Editing experience in Adobe Premiere (or similar) – long- and short-form
- Able to juggle production and post – comfortable on location and in the edit suite
- Calm, organised, and solutions-oriented on busy shoot days
- Collaborative and open to feedback – someone who's excited to grow with us
It's a bonus if you have:
- Experience as an in-house video editor, producer, or similar
- Startup experience
- Interest in motion graphics or text overlays for explainers
- Industry experience with heat pumps, renewable energy, construction, or utilities
We believe great teams are built from different ways of thinking, learning, and living, and as such, we strive to build an organisation where people can show up as themselves. Even if you don't tick every box listed above, but are passionate about the work that we are doing and believe that you can make a positive impact here, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a 3-day-in-the-office-hybrid role where you will work with the team at our office Sustainable Ventures in Waterloo, Europe's biggest climate tech hub. Some of our measurable benefits include:

- Shares in the company, allocated under a tax-incentivised scheme
- Salary that's evaluated regularly, and based on skills, impact, and role scope—not negotiation tactics
- Private medical & dental insurance
- Learning and development budget
- Annual summer retreat

- Season ticket loan
- Cycle to work scheme
- Yoga, run club and social events with other sustainability startups in our co-working space
