What We Do

At Heat Geek, we are tackling the UK’s biggest carbon contributor: home heating. Nearly 20% of all UK carbon emissions stems from residential temperature regulation. By revolutionising the installation process using technology, we are getting more heat pumps into homes and slashing carbon emissions in the process.

Your Mission

Our Heat Geek community is excited to bring four Operations Associates – Planning & Supply Chain into our team. We install hundreds of heat pumps per month across the UK. Every installation requires a precise set of compliance checks, documentation steps, and coordination tasks to ensure quality, efficiency, and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation & Compliance Processing: Completing and submitting heat pump compliance forms (MCS, DNO, warranties, etc.), gathering, checking, and uploading installer documentation, validating data for accuracy and completeness, following defined workflows with high precision.
  • Job Progression & Workflow Management: Moving jobs through internal workflow stages, identifying blockers and ensuring missing information is chased, keeping internal systems and job statuses accurate and up to date.
  • Quality Assurance: Conducting spot checks on installer submissions, ensuring all required evidence is available before approval, flagging recurring issues for process improvement, identifying when work deviates from the happy path and escalating appropriately, working with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, contributing to improvement of documentation and playbooks.

As one of the early hires for this new team, we will look to you to help us identify gaps and suggest best practices to our operational processes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with repetitive, structured tasks.
  • Experience in process-heavy or compliance-based roles such as insurance processing, mortgage/conveyancing admin, financial services operations, logistics operations, utilities/energy admin, warranty or claims processing, or other similar spaces.
  • Confident working with digital workflows, internal systems, and spreadsheets.
  • Comfort with an ambiguous environment.

It’s a bonus if you have…

  • Experience in renewable energy, construction, engineering, or utilities.
  • Familiarity with MCS, DNO, or other regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working in a startup or growth environment.

We believe great teams are built from different ways of thinking, learning, and living, and as such, we strive to build a team where people can show up as themselves. Even if you don’t tick every box listed above, but are passionate about the work that we are doing and believe that you can make a positive impact here, we’d love to hear from you.

Ways of Working + Benefits

This is a 3-day-in-the-office hybrid role where you will work with the team at our office in Sustainable Ventures in Waterloo, Europe’s biggest climate tech hub. Some of our measurable benefits include:

  • £5,000 contribution towards your own heat pump installation.
  • Shares in the company, allocated under a tax-incentivised scheme.
  • Salary that’s evaluated regularly, based on skills, impact, and role scope—not negotiation tactics.
  • Private medical & dental insurance.
  • Learning and development budget.
  • Annual summer retreat.
  • Season ticket loan.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Yoga, run club and social events with other sustainability startups in our co-working space.

…alongside monthly socials and lots of opportunities to collaborate with a team that’s passionate, hardworking, and kind.
